A Series’ favorite and our only event produced at one of our country’s National Parks. The .5 mile SWIM in the Bay from the U.S. Coast Guard Base at Sandy Hook will be followed by a 10.5 mile BIKE and a 3.1 mile RUN both within the National Park property ensuring minimal vehicular presence and extremely flat terrain.

Sandy Hook is a 26,000-acre Park that includes units in the New York City boroughs of Brooklyn, Queens and Staten Island in addition to Sandy Hook, NJ. This scenic 1660 acre National Park includes the Sandy hook Lighthouse, built in 1764 and the oldest operating lighthouse in America, as well as historic Fort Hancock and the Sandy Hook Proving Ground, which helped defend New York Harbor until 1975. Established in 1895, Fort Hancock was most active during the World War II years. It is now a decommissioned Army Base, which includes former military residences and Officers’ Row.
